On February 2, 2008, a papaya planting at the UOG Yigo Experiment Station was visited to determine the identity of "medium sized, white flies". These are probably lacewings, which are currently numerous at the experiment station. These are beneficial insects. Both larvae and adults prey on pest insects. Their large wings appear white when in flight.
